    Scope of Sako Carbonlite .260

Apologies for "another one of those" questions but a mate is about to drop the coin on a .260 Carbonlite and asked me what scope he should get.

Local stores don't have a lot of selection so not a lot to compare against. He's the kind of guy that likes nice things and is in the fortunate situation to be able to pay for them. The intended use is hunting and also gong shoots out to around 900m. My experience is with heavier target type optics so hence asking the question. I suggested something in around the 3-18 magnification range with the ability to dial. Maybe a Leupold VX-6HD? He's used my NSX's and S&B but I thought something a bit lighter/compact would suit his carbonlite better.

So what would you suggest given its intended use?

    Scope of Sako Carbonlite .260

Nightforce make a compact scope with plenty of elevation adjustment and zero stop, that fit the short action Sako's well

    2.5-10x42

A nice lil Dial up Swaro would be lighter and probably a better combo

VX6 would be a good choice, 3-18 is a great zoom range.
A VX3 would be lighter, but not as good magnification range.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I think my mate will go for the VX-6HD.

These are actually a really attractive little scope. Out of interest where about did you buy the scope? Been looking into getting that exact model in but options are limited these days.
