I was with @Puffin when he checked my tract scope, I’m not sure why you would need to shoot any bullets to check tracking.
When shooting at the range we move the point of aim up and down and left and right but aim at the same point this gives us multiple groups on the same target and reduces the chance holes landing in the black lines which can be hard to spot at 200m.
I’ve not needed to and would prefer not to dial when hunting for two reasons one ethical kill and I’m not fit enough to walk to shot animals at long range, if we shot somewhere flatter and can guarantee a clean kill I might be tempted.
