    Screws for BSA Cadet Aperture Sight, Parker Hale No 8

    Hi, courtesy of a Forum member I just bought tge above sight. Rifle has had such a sight on it and has the screw holes. Wondering if anyone has one who could tell me what screws I need, thread and dia?

    Possibly not, as there are about three possibilities depending on who originally fitted the thing. Not likely to be metric though. Need threads per inch and diameter for starters.

    Would have been most likely factory fitted. Looks quite crude though as the timber is visible thru the hole. Wood screws....??
    I'll dig my old BSA out and see what's been done with it.

    Can't really see pics too good on phone, but I'd be surprised if it was oddball thread. #4x40 would be my standard guess.

    The screw (on my example) is a slightly domed cheese head and countersunk. The head diameter is 0.250", the threaded section is 0.156" long and 0.163 in diameter. There are 6 threads on the threaded section. Name:  IMG_0623.JPG
