Marlin pappose would be another option.... Something a little different and can take in pack for longer trips and have centrefire for bigger critters

keep using the norinco, get a 10 shot mag for it...and put the .243 in wagon with you......now head shooting hares and exploding cats out to 250ish will be a simple matter and results very dramatic....there is no such thing as overgunned.

Shouldn't have sold your bergara.... Perfect for sitting in the truck in the case of something bigger appearing

No danger of that where I am shooting. Hasn't been anything bigger around there for years.....just hares, rabbits and feral cats, dont want to take more than 1 rifle either as it gets pretty "entertaining" and I don't want my other rifle bouncing around in the cab or on the tray of the ute for that matter.

I've been running CCI subs as their accurate and super accurate in my CZ452 but they keep jamming in the 10/22

Any good ways to get around that?

I’m the same , the CCI feeds perfectly and does the job on the target .

It even rain for over 20 years without ever being cleaned!

I don't understand all these stories about bad accuracy, I've never seen another .22LR that will outperform it in a rabbit shooting scenario. Yeah maybe on a bench at a range, but out on the job doing fast shots from standing position I doubt any alleged marginal increase in accuracy from another rifle would make a practical difference.
Having it for over 30 years is most likely the difference......

I think people way overthink this to be honest. A 10/22 out of the box, has perfectly serviceable accuracy for rabbit shooting. Granted, the triggers are aids, but they can be improved significantly with some wet sand paper and a bench stone, and about an hour of your time. A VQ hammer and spring set will make it butter. As for accuracy, put it this way. After my $0 trigger job, I could make good hits consistently on rabbits out to 100m with subs and a red dot sight.

Winchester/hushpower subsonics (same except for the name) although I hear the new Winchester 42gr max subs go very well. Haven't tried them but I am all but run out of subs so maybe worth buying a packet to see how it goes.
