Thread: Semi automatic 22magnum under a grand

Have someone who is looking for a semi 22 mag for pest control
Wondering what to buy he’s looking at the rossi but is there a better option for his money?

Stay away from the Rossi if you can. Spending money on a 22mag Semi is well worth it. They can be relatively finnicky and have the odd feeding issue. Don't suppress them either, can be really hit or miss if they work after that. The Savage A22 are pretty reliable and should be bang on a grand.

Nz guns hunting mag did a 3 way review between Rossi, cz and excel. The Rossi was by far the best value and performed extremely well.

I have a Savage A22 in the safe - totally unused - would be happy to sell it for less than a grand.

For pest control you want reliability, ability to withstand rougher than normal handling, consistent performance, easy cleaning and maintenance and above all value for money as after a thrashing resale is going to be limited.
Personally I'd go Rossi.
