Great info thanks guys, I'm definitely going to try the sling techniques, cheers.
I find the sling technique needs quite a short sling made out of a grippy material
Leather or similar.
I use my hunting rifles sling on my .22 for keeping my practice up
Both, hunted (shot on) a private block in the weekend. Walked a ridge and just set up when the deer showed. Bi Pod with spikes was a god send, a pack would have rolled down the hillAnother thing when there is a mob and you need to move to reset the angle its far easier to lift a rifle with pod than swing/drag a pack around

If I'm heading bush it stays home. If I'm heading bush with lots of clearings it may go in the pack.
Depends on the type of hunt and terrain I am covering. In some situations having my bipod is perfect for making a tricky or long shot and then in others it stays at home and my backpack will be used if I need it. I don’t believe there is any one answer, more so it is just practised systems that work for an individual.
