All cals shoot better than I can.
Can mix an match optics if you have to.
    Guns safe is never cluttered.
Never had a drama starting any projectile choice at the lands.
    All for around 7K.

    $7k?

I just bought one and it cost about $7k with just one barrel, mount and scope. Each additional barrel with dedicated optics will be well in excess of 3k.

out of interest, if you shoot say the .308 barrel, then the next day you want to shoot the say... .223 barrel would you need to make a trip to the range to re-zero between barrels?

Only if it was fitted to a longer action and rechambered to something with better ballistics than a short range mortar

Assuming in your question that you are using one scope then probably yes, unless you have worked out the click values previously.

If running one scope per barrel then no. In fact, LR used my .280 AI barrel on his Blaser the other day and it was spot on.

If he re barrel a Martini Henry in a 308 he'd have a better looking rifle with a better lever action
