    Greetings All,
A blast from the past. The state of the art in the olden days.
Standard T3 Lite, Tikka rings, 6x36 Leupold scope with ballistic reticle. Load 159 grain SST at 2,810 fps. Earplugs in daypack. Been here about 20 years and hardly used. Not for sale. Tiny bench rest additional. Weight about 3 kg.

    Greetings,
You all spotted my obvious mistake, they were 129 SST projectiles although I do have some 160 grain round noses. Hmm. and yes it was a 6.5x55 and not some new fangled thing that does the same job.

4.18kg with a reasonably sized scope, mag and sling. Can trim about 360gms off that if the scope was a VX3 3.5-10

    Greetings again,
The 6x36 scope (no longer listed) weighs under 300 grams. I don't have the bipod on for hunting as I can't use one in the field. A series of unfortunate events over the last year or so has kept the 6.5 in the safe but hope to rectify that in the coming months.

Not exactly light now as it weighs 3.7kg .

Model 7 with a Remington sps weight hardy barrel at 20 inches. Remington fibreglass stock and a 2-12 vx6, dpt suppressor

Used to have a vx3 2.5-8 and the 18.5 inch standard barrel and I think 2.8 kg ish

Yeah my alpine rifle is about the same weight. Longer shots you want a heavier rig for sure.
My little kimber is pretty lively and it's only a 6.5 creed. Comfortable enough to shoot still but hops about a bit.

    2.3kg all up.
Norinco JW15. Off centre bore by about 2mm, 'custom' foam and fiberglass lightweight stock. Painted ocean blue gloss because that's what I had that day.
Built for the role of volume rabbit shooting from a vehicle.

Rem Model 7, Manner stock Hardy barrel, Neopod, DPT & Z6 still tips the scales at 3642gr
I'm happy with the weight though as it shoots superb off hand & prone.
