Yeah Ive filled one cabinet, looking for another....

I am finding shooting historical rifles good fun, I shoot TR at Trentham but usually now shoot my AJP No4 as I enjoy it more.

There is a Burris 332 on TM, been watching it for a while, didn't sell for $475 for ages. So he has no reserve.

I find that at 100m my scores are the same with the irons in my service ar as with the 4x acog. Stretch the range out and that changes.

But my eyes are relatively young, don't have a face for the op but going by his comment about needing magnification maybe he is older and his sight is degrading on him.

Besides, if you have to shoot in open class, you may as well go all the way and get good vari-power glass.

Not much sense in handicapping yourself by shooting with irons when you're up against all the other open class guns.

The Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4 is a good option too if you aren't fussed about getting a variable scope. The only thing I dislike about it is that it is a 1.5x, not a true 1x. I got mine from Leupold 115388, Mark AR Mod 1 1.5-4X20mm Riflescope Matte Finish, Duplex Reticle and that came in well under $500. I was tempted by the firedot version but the bank didn't quite stretch that far. As it is already dialed in for 223/5.56 in 55gr it's pretty spot on.
