Some advice please on a new .223

Hi guys, looking to buy a new and first rifle in .223 for around the $1000 mark. I have looked at Howa 1500 and the mini action , ruger and Remington.
I already have a scope ( 3.5-10x50 vortex ). Want to know any opinions / facts that will help with my decision.
    Cheers in advance.

The Howa is your best choice by far, well made, accurate, and a good trigger. I have a few mates with them and they are delighted with their performance.

Or a second hand Tikka in 1-8” twist. You can run heavier pills and try for longer ranges

Just wait until a good deal turns up on here. Most sellers on here a good bastards and you’re bound to get a much, much better second hand rifle for that money than you could ever buy new.

I agree. If you're in no rush, you'd be much better off to wait for a good deal on a 2nd hand rifle. I'd buy a decent 2nd hand rifle over a entry level new one anyday

Cheers guys , no hurry at the moment using a mate's Tikka until I get my own. Will definitely have a look on here , when I'm ready to buy.

My Savage Axis ain’t too bad
Surprised me how accurate it is, lightened the trigger and, I’m happy as Larry with it.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

He doesn't need an assault rifle for his first .223.
