Need to be careful with acetone as it will discolour/ruin most plastics.

Isopropyl Alcohol is not as effective as a solvent but is much safer to use around plastics.

Anyone have a way to clean all the paint off a stock? Something like quick-strip? Rub it on and wash it off next day sort of thing. Have a browning xbolt in the A-tacs camo, they used to put the rubber coating on it but it was going all sticky, so they did away with it. The paint chips and scratch’s and rubs off fairly easy I’ve noticed. Want to hydro dip but want all the old paint gone first, from in the checkering etc. any thoughts?

If its a regular paint/varnish then I would use Citristrip.

If its a powder coat finish then CRC gasket remover , gloves , ventilation , and a stiff brush. this shit burns quickly on your skin so wear gloves , wash off with lots of water
