I think you mean e.g. but totally agree with the vast array of meaningless names that seem to be cropping up
For a 0-200 Bush rifle, 450 Bushmaster, hand loaded 250grain projectile at around 2300fps, factory ammo around 2000fps

Bushpigs...seems to be the in thing for bush hunting, short as possible barrel....but often not as short as one would like as have suppressors fitted on the end. Then they like them to be a big CAl, 140gr or larger., but larger the better and better still if you reload yourself even thou you want to use it generally at 0-100yards . And lastly light as possible, where they happier spend a fair amount cutting pieces off, changing stocks, fluting barrels on perfectly fine rifles to have their bush pig.
Never really did understand it, I kind of get why, but at the same time I do wonder if people just like spending money for the sake of it.
All you need is a standard 22inch 243, factory 100gr ammo and you got the super bush pig Works darn well, no money spending, never had a issue with weight, length of barerll or performance in tight bush, it works. Even my back up 308 is 24 inch, never thought once about chopping it as never worried me at all about the extra length.....but that's just me , I just bushstalk with what works for me, and the mighty 243 rat rifle works a treat
Mine would be more of a "super giraffe" its almost as long as I am round!!!
Trust the dog.........................................ALWAYS Trust the dog!!
I doubt it Cant recall any wish list but theres always something I would like. The243 is always my go to rifle, but like to have options covered and having a back up or two in other cals for extra range and top hunting etc is always good.. Next on list to go with my back up 308 is a 7m mag...might get one soon, and it be braked, not suppressed lol. Can protect hearing without having a suppressor
People who don't see the point in short barrel suppressed rifles have usually never owned one. Hunting with a suppressor is far more pleasant than not, but bush bashing with a suppressor on the end of a factory length barrel sucks.
And walking round with ear plugs in or earmuffs on is not ideal.
I've just had a 7saum super pig built. I think it's a bloody good balance for a do all type rifle. It's light, short, quiet and it well capable in the bush or out to 800 yards. What's not to like.
What's the specs on the loads for the saum and bbl length?

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts
