    Bike shops frequently have damaged inner tubes, worth checking out and the price is right!

    suppressor is for a 284 not a 22lr

    The DPT suppressor I have on my 223 is the worst I've ever had for heat mirage. Even with their neoprene cover it sucked.
    I had to fit another canvas/nylon type cover for it as well to be able to see anything after 3 shots.
    Never had a problem with the GunWorks suppressors on my other rifles, or on my other 223.
    Won't get another of those DPT suppressors.

    Have no experience with this. A strip of aluminium Venetian blind has about the right profile...
    This - most F Class shooters use this sort of thing or the like to reduce mirage off the barrel. Works for suppressors too.

    Not just F Class. Target Class shooters using apertures have used blinds for yonks.

    I started using a blind about 25 years ago. One white venetian blind slat, curced side upwards. Curved side spray painted matt black. All held on the barrel with velcro.

    All good stuff but not much help for the OP.

    Yeah it was what came with the rifle package, not by choice.
