    Both my 243's are 14x1 and my rimfires are 1/2 unf.
    Think 14mm is good for up to 30cal none magnums then go bigger.
    Have seen some suggestions that bigger is better when possible due to heat retention and metal expansion issues.
    The threaded muzzle tip holds a lot of heat due to the silencer preventing cooling.
