Hardy have worked well for me. Gen 5 & 6 on my lever actions and a gen 5 stealth that moves between a 243 and sons 223 bolt actions. Really quiet.
The shorter ones have some of the least overhang out the front of the barrel avaliable, (Well they did when I got them.)
Have seen a big influx of new brands over the last 2-3 years and more exotic materials as well that has made it harder.

Feel that my Hardy works better that what the 3 guys I shoot regularly with use.

Still this is so subjective as you can't compare a 223 with a 308 or even 2x 223 with different barrel lengths or bullet weights......

One of the fancy AR specific ones.

Against a mates DPT on his 16" and my Hardy with its 20" barrel.

The Hardy was not what I'd call hearing safe and the DPT dorked on it for a fraction of the cost.

A tech are superbly made and very nice.
ASE are mint also and would out do the aluminum ones for obvious reasons.

If you wanted the best for weight and noise reduction.

Hands down Oceania defense. 3d printed titanium suppressors. I had mates who had them on AR's and now a few who do a fair bit of Tops. They really rate the light weight and how effective they are. Plus they have a ratchet lock system which you will never bump. If I had the coin I'd grab one for all 3 rifles myself.

I would not touch anther Hardys again. As mentioned before DPT or Gunworks. I will be getting one to replace the Hardys I have as they wont fix it (even though I explained it was 2nd hand and I did not expect it to be done as a warranty job- ) I get soot on the outside of my barrel after every use even if only one shot is fired.... I understand sometimes things are not perfect- but it is how a person deals with defect and mistakes that is important to me and when I spoke to them he flat out told me that his suppressors wont do that....Well I can tell you its not the barrel doing it.....As a matter of fact, I had someone else wh is familiar with these things take a look at it and there is visible swarf in the join where the barrel sleeve threads into the muzzle fitting on the suppressor.....Probably a simple fix that has cost him a customer

When I replace it I will be getting a gunworks one - no question. If I was closer to DPT they would be in with a chance, but shipping hassles etc mean I go local for that now.

I have a Chinese monocore sup on one centre fire rifle and it is actually better than any baffle type I have seen or used and was only $80

Haha, so I’m not the only one. Whilst the QD is a good idea, I’ve loctited my adapter into the A-Tec, so I can also use an ASE-Utra on the same barrel if I choose.

Nope. I got distracted put suppressor on and never clicked it round. Its quite impresive. I hit where i was aiming with projectile too with no baffle strike which was quite supprising.

I didn’t fully engage mine. It went 125 yds. Coozed the internals….

I have an A-Tec Optima and it is noticeably quieter than my mates Gunworks suppressor. I also have an older (about 10 years) Greystone which is okay, but Stuart was such a dickhead to deal with I’d never go back.

What was the recoil like? Richard at Serious Shooters launched one off a 45/70 years ago by shooting slow burning powder out of a v short barrel, and filling the can with unburned powder (I seem to remember that as the explanation - apologies if I misremember). Eventually it ignited in the suppressor and tried to reach escape velocity.

The bruise was impressive.

I've tried pretty much all the suppressors mentioned, minus the A-tec optima. You guys seriously need to try the S&L thunderdome. It's amazing. I've now got 3 of them.

This happened to my son's brand new Hardy they did repair it as it is where the isolation tube is attached towards the front of the thread.

I have all that has been stated above.
DPT - Good value, strong, but old tecnology and not the quietest. Plus my baffles went far too early on my 308. Stores push them as they are like a lego set and offer good margin.
Hardy - Good suppression and weight. I must be lucky as i have had over a dozen with no issues.
A Tec - The best by far. The lock system is great, but the actual suppressor design is second no none and is deadly quiet. Downside is it is 150mm muzzle forward.
Gunworks - Great people to deal with, but suppressors are old school washers, not that quiet and heavy. Plus it was on a nice high end Sako and it rubbed the bluing off.
Waikati - great to smack nails in with - about all i need to say
ASE - these are great as well. I have used the Radien and is a seriously good unit.
S&L is a great unit as well. Havnt used it but have seen it in action. Very similar in design to the A tec.

I've blown up a stealth and a an mate has too threads are crap back off 1/4 turn and have heaps of play on multiple guns I checked both on and were being supplied with big oversislzed rear bushes absolute heaps of shit poor machining cost, used most others and all have been good mainly run dpt ones, magnum non magnum with and without blast baffels they seem to go well
