    Swarovski Binocular Warranty

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what Swarovski's warranty on binoculars extends to? To the optical performance only, or might include the exterior rubber coatings etc. My Swarovski Pocket 8x25 CL has been a daily carry for work for the best part of 5 years, but now the rubber exterior is starting to fall apart, cracking and becoming soft to the point where I could quite easily just peel it off now with little to no effort. It's simply normal wear and tear from constant use, optically the binoculars are mint and been well taken care of. Warranty claim or would need to be sent away for a refurbishment cost? Any experiences from Swarovski users?

    Kind regards,
    Joel

I would be amazed if it was covered under warranty

Talk to swarovski nz about sending them back for a refurbishment, he is a good guy to deal with and might have a demo binos he can sent you to use while they are away.

I had a pair of 9xx25 (older than yours) sent back about 2 years ago. They had fogging inside. They were repaired without charge.

When you buy a pair of Swarovski binoculars, you are automatically covered by the company's warranty. This warranty guarantees that your binoculars will be free from any manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the product. In addition, Swarovski will also repair any accidental damage to your binoculars free of charge. This warranty is valid regardless of where the product was purchased, and it remains in effect even if the owner has changed their name or address.

The thing I find interesting is that the.
    "Life time of the product"
Seems to vary with whomsoever is making the decision about whether it will be repaired or not.

I have always preferred a fixed term no bollocks warranty.
