    Tape on muzzle brakes

So I now have a rifle with a brake on it, have always had a but if tape over the end of my suppressors. Can the same be done with a brake and shoot through it or would it have to be removed? What would a bit if tape residue / dirt do it it gets stuck in the brake?

Not sure on what variety of brake it is (came with the rifle)

The pressure involved makes me think that a bit of tape wouldn't matter. Can remember someone here did an experiment with tape or no tape on a suppressor and there was no difference

It is not going to cause any harm, although tape is usually not needed unless the rifle is being carried muzzle-up in rain. Muzzle brakes tend to protect the muzzle from foreign bodies quite well.

Looks like one of their own brakes.

I use the finger off a rubber glove over my brake, like a condom But have never left it on to shoot.

    Tape it up.
I do it all the time and no worries at all. The tape wouldn’t even get touched by the projectile. If you’re worried about it try it at the range first.

the pneumatic force of the bullet going down the barrel will blast it off and the gases after that will do the rest

Don't do that, I accidentally left one of my plugs out after taking a phone call, my ears just about bled and where ringing for days

Don't know about brakes, but I did a lot of testing with electrical tape over muzzle. I found that if the tape was a tight fit, point of impact wasn't affected, but if tape was a loose fit, muzzle gases hitting the tape would shift POI.
