    Tasco Red Dot

Any of you guys use and like the tasco red dots? I saw one at Rivers and Ranges and it seemed like a good option for the 10/22. How does tasco measure up?

I think the one i was looking at was a 1x30.

Good in close on moving targets, have only used Aimpoint

Had one on a Baikal 7.62x39. Never had an issue, the dots 4moa and it "worked" to 200 metres. Bulky compared to aimpoints, etc and a bit more battery hungry but at that price bloody good value for money

I have two, a fairly recently purchased Propoint, (with the integrated base, I think this one is manufactured on behalf of various brands and name painted at the last minute) and an old school PDP3.
Both work ok but don't feel overly solid like an aimpoint or burris.
I wouldn't put one on a bush gun and expect it to stand up to more than several trips in the scrub and rain. But fine for walking around farms shooting a few rabbits.

They also don't have the 'auto off', 'auto on' features that the more expensive brands have. If you never forget to turn it off, no problem. If you do forget to turn it off when it goes back into the safe, it will turn itself off after several days or more.
