I recently picked up this rifle, I got it for a very good (I think) price, and im interested in knowing more about it, is it worth keeping or should I move it on? Rough value? Im actually thinking about knocking the barrel back an inch or two, and trying to find a wood stock for it (im developing a wood fetish lately)
From what I can tell, the action is a BSA Monarch Deluxe and it was originally a 7mm Rem Mag, the barrel on it now is a 27" fluted stainless in a heavy profile, still in 7mm rem mag, possibly trueflight? My experience with older actions tells me its had a trigger job as the trigger is nice and crisp. Its been bedded into a B&C stock. Have only shot some factory Federal Bluebox 150gr through it but it shot very well and from what I can tell the barrel hasn't had much work at all.
I had put it up for a trade on another rifle (just to see whats out there) and have had a few interesting offers but without knowing much about it, or its value, im not sure if I will be shooting myself in the foot (so to speak..) by moving it on.
Any information, thoughs, opinions greatly appreciated. Cheers
