    Thoughts on Tikka m595

I have my eye on a m595 in 223 on trademe.
What are people's thoughts on these rifles? After a bit of a search on here it seems they are quite liked and shoot well enough also.
    1:12" doesn't thrill me.
And I suppose it may be getting harder to find spare mags

The M595 and M695 are one of the better Tikkas. Better made than a T3, but they are generally pretty heavy.

Thanks guys. Does anyone know when they stopped making them?
I quite like my t3hunter with wooden stock.
The weight won't be too much of an issue, will probably hacksaw some barrel off and put a dpt can on it. That's if I can afford it first

The good things about the 595/695 series are their accurracy and finish but last but not least when you run out of ammo you can club the animal to death with out damaging the rifle!

Nearly impossible to find mags. They may have stopped making them in about 1995.

Nah Brownells have them, just got a 5 round for my 595 .308. Fortunately it was $99.99 so came under the $100 export requirement, some don't. It seems they also go in and out of stock so you have to be quick. My 595 was made in 1997, best bolt action rifle I have ever owned. Maybe not as cool as a Blaser but definitely better in a clubbing match. You can still get stocks from Boyds also. Just buy it.

did you get it Puku? it seems to have gone..

After a 6.5x55 left hand now pref stainless... rare as hens teeth.

No I didn't. Bids shot up in the last 10 minutes as usual and I was busy feeding the daughter so missed out.
Never mind I will keep my eye out, would have been God buying at that though!

Look for an lsa55 or lsa65 too, they are even better from the time before tikka became sako's cheaper brand and were sako's competition.
    puku and 300CALMAN like this.
"Here's the deal I'm the best there is. Plain and simple. I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence."
