    Tikka Bush Hunter 2.0

The name alone is going to trigger someone, but whatever! Picked one up this weekend.

Bit more information for those that are interested

    - .308
    - 16" standard profile factory barrel
    - Threaded 15x1
    - Twist 1:11
    - Length 92.5cm (more or less)
    - Weight 2.6kg

Best price I could find was Reloaders at $1859.

Alongside my Bergara single shot which has a 16.5 inch barrel.

Those stickers makes it shoot better, don't lose them
Nice looking rig, sensible twist as well

just goes to show how much length you lose/gain with the action.
So clearly anyone wanting a true bush gun should consider a single shoot.
i dont have one yet but the light weight and compact size plus the ability to put it in my pack/or on the side really apeals.

By looking at the photo, the differences for 2.0 and 1.0 are
    - 1.0 fluted barrel similar to superlite
    - 2.0 D18 steel

The weight seems about the same.

Problem is the stainless bergara single shot weighs nearly half a kilo more than the tikka, not arguing it is shorter though.

Yes, I was torn between the Tikka and another Bergara single shot in .308.

That is correct. The Bergara single shot rifles are heavy little things.

They are amazing but certainly wouldn’t call them lightweight

Put a similar sized scope on the tikka as that which is on your bergara and you’ll have a great wee bush rifle.

I tried red dots at one stage but having some magnification helps

It's going to get a small/lightweight scope, but not quite as small as the one on my Bergara.

Im so used to the Bergara that when I took the Tikka for a walk I couldn’t remember how much was involved when a deer popped out in front of me. Something to be said about single shot auto pilot. Pull the hammer back and touch the trigger.

I have a Leupold 3-9x33 which is going on the Tikka. This is my "long range" rifle, 100 - 200m
