it's gotta to be a winner in sales terms at least. i like my little cz452, but if i wanted another rimfire... and yes, it would have to be stainless/synthetic.

It will be interesting to see how similar it is to the Finnfire 2, which is already quite tikka-like.
That could open the way to a true premium 85-grade Finnfire with dedicated action length, all steel construction, higher capacity mag, rubber recoil pad and so on. At a price point like the 85 too, of course .

Not quite the word I would have used but whatever floats your boat

I expect it should be a good practical rifle and shoot well though.

That would be a handsome rimfire in a wooden stock.
No doubt there'll be plenty of other after market options in time, similar to T3s & CZs.

Yeah mate,I’m left handed also, but had to order this in the right hand version,as it’s a gift for my young fella.Talked to a Tikka rep at the Portland Gun show,he told me they are under a lot of pressure from lefties like me to put it out in a left hand... I’ll shoot this one and if I like it will order myself one “if” they decide on a lefty..... my guess is that if the right hand sell well you will see a left handed version..... their T3 line sells well, don’t see why this wouldn’t,great Gun for Kiwi conditions....

The website is actually functional this morning! T1x | Tikka
Looks like it could take existing items that are out there for the centerfires, i.e. the bolt handles. Be interesting to know the dovetail width. Could be the same stock footprint judging from the photo of the mag and trigger area.
Will be keen to give one a go when they get here.

He mentions they will do two thread types, one for the yanks, and one for the europeans. Wonder which we will get. I'm bloody keen on one for sane money.
