Thread: Tikka T3 barrel on a older M595

Does anybody know if the Tikka T3 and M595 have the same tenons diameter? Can a T3 barrel be bolted on to a M595?

Yes i believe so. Obviously headspace will need to be checked.

I know I put a trg22 barrel on my 595 and an awesome bit of kit.
I know that the tikka barrels screw straight into a sako 85 action as done that as well.

AFAIK, Tikka M55/65, M590/595, 690/695, T3, Sako 75/85 and probably more (Tikka/Sako) are all interchangeable - with headspace checked.

Yea, I'd love to replace my M595 1in12 twist with something allowing heavier pills

Same tenon, same thread pitch, you might have to install a spacer in front of the action though, as the T3s thread is longer than the M595s.

My Mod 695 in 7 mm Rem has T3 barrel on it.

but is it possible to change over a 695 270
to 7m rem mag using the t3 barrel?

Me neither but the bolt face would have to be opened up ( not sure if that can be done on the 695 )as the 7mm Rem is larger than the 270. If that could be done I suppose a 7mm Rem barrel could be fitted to a 695 in 270 cal, there may be other small issues with magazine and feeding but a gunsmith should know what's possible and what's not.

My Mod 695 was a 7mm Rem so it only required the barrel to be fitted.

So had a T3 6.5prc barrel fitted to my M595 today and bolt face opened up. Screwed straight on, headspace was a touch long so the gun smith had to set the barrel back 7 thou. So nearly interchangeable.
