Have fitted several Timney's to REM700's in past - no problems. Love the triggers, especially the CE's
Well the Timney went in like a dream ,less than twenty minutes and the job was done. Chainsaw the stock on mine is wooden and I guess I am lucky that the trigger never touched anywhere eh.And hell does it feel nice when you set it off.

    I put a Timney into my R700.
Is there any way to put some pre-travel in there? I'm used to taking up the slack in a trigger and feeling the sear about to trip - not pressure-BANG.
Would prefer to keep my rifles consistent. I can feel the trigger about to go in both my Rugers and in my AR15. There is a small amount of pre-travel in both.

Pre-travel Gerbs, the old term is creep lol but that don't mean shit, knows what yi mean.
Not sure mate how to adjust the Timney to give it some creep.
I believe these triggers are designed to snap with a reasonable light pull,,woops,,sqeeze.
Hop on UTUBE Gerbs, see what you come up with eh.Everyone is different when it comes to how
this and that suits them and there are some clued up gun nuts on this sight also, watch this space eh.

Introducing creep seems to me to be undesirable. Mostly we spend money to get rid of or reduce trigger creep. Are we talking here about a 2 stage trigger versus a single stage trigger?

Timney triggers have amazing trigger pull and zero creep but one of the ways they get that is by using a lighter than normal hammer spring. Be aware of that.

Where is the hammer on a bolt action rifle? Did you mean the sear?

Yes my experience relates to an AR. Be aware that lighter than spec hammer spring may result in light hammer strikes and misfires.
