    I wonder where they get their forgings and small parts from?

    There has been serious bad blood between Western Ukranianians and ethnic Russians and Poles since the Soviet era. The history of the Ukraine nationalist movement during and after WWII is an interesting forgotten chapter of history.

    Central Europeans do a lot of manufacturing including arms. Wouldn't be surprised if they make small parts themselves.

    Yes it is, goes a lot further back than WW2.

    Wouldn't be beyond their abilities to produce domestically I'd have thought, considering how much high tech material is produced there (rocket and aircraft engines for example)?

    Agreed especially with some cheap(er) ammo kicking round NZ but 6.5 G may be the ultimate AR and AK round. It looks like Serbia is in the process of adopting it in one of their AK variants.
