    Versatile binos

Looking for recommendations on some budget friendly binos. $6-700ish. I like the look of the zeiss terra, and have heard good things about the vortex range. Will be used for tops. Nothing too bulky 8x25? Currently have some old bushnells, it's like carrying a brick and looking through gladwrap.

I'm currently using some Leica 10x42's that I got as a gift. Used to have some Minox 10x42's and honestly considering the price difference the Minox were damn good value for money. I would imagine any 8x25 they make would also be good quality. Have also heard good things about Vortex but no personal experience.

Vortex diamondback 10x42s are fairly compact and light I used them for a few years. They have glass more than good enough for 90% of the time and you will likely appreciate the extra field of veiw and light gathering even 8x42s are pretty versatile and sometimes the extra field of view is worth the loss of zoom. I think the 8x32s actually had the best field of view of the diamondbacks

Go at least 32's over 25's at that price point. More light the better

I have Steiner 10 x 42 which are really good ( won them in Beretta Comp in NZ Hunter Mag) best I have ever owned. My nephew has just bought a set of 10x42 Diamondback bino's and finds them very good for the money. I have looked through them and can't really fault them.

Vortex Diamondback are very decent value for money. I have a 8x42 and used them heaps in the Kaweka and Ruahine.

After a bit more research I will be going to the 42s. I want as much light gathering as possible

What model? I've taken a gamble on some steiner ranger extremes. Got a really good deal on them

I use Kowa Prominar 10x32s. Great glass and a good compromise between size/weight and performance. Vanguard Endeavour HD are also worth a look for the price.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

Steiner glass seems nice and bright to look through.

The Steiner UltraSharps are fantastic for the price range they sit in. If you have the ability, the Ranger Extremes punch well above their price tag.
