    @rambo-6mmrem

    Confused
    Here is the same scope in USA (and in US$) and 2nd link in NZ in NZ$
    My prices support the USA price but no way I come close to the NZ price :-(

    Outdoors Supplies web site is notoriously out of date and contains a lot of unavailable stuff.

    Don't say that mate just ordered 162eldx and 7mm wsm brass. Pills turned up but brass didn't heard stories in the past and now starting to worry...

    1st thoughts glass is absolutely amazing
    As good as any leupold with maybe the Exception if the really high end ones
    Certainly as good as any of there basic hunting scopes

    @Steve123
    I have the Vixen 111 series 2.5 to 15 x 50 it is a very clear bit of glass and works well in low light.
    I would put it well above a vortex ( I have had a couple of vipers and looked through a few PST's ) of similar cost.
    I have been able to ID deer and their gender when a vortex viper cant find the deer, on dark. A true side by side comparison.
    The other vortex issue I have is their very thick rim, when looking through, makes the lens look small / gives a smaller field of view.
    I think Vortex have a very good marketing strategy, and that is persuasive in itself.

    @rambo-6mmrem the V111 has 60 MOA uppty down I think from memory

    Are they capped turrets? How does it track? I like the look of them but went with the vx5 for the turrets

    2 inches high at 100 is roughly a 200yd zero and my 300wsm load of 208amax at 2820fps with a 200 yd zero needs 24moa to get to 1000....not knowing your load details but i think you may need to check your data you've put in your ballistic app.

    Now that I can't get Nikon I have been looking at the Vixen as an alternative. Recently got the V1 vixen for my son's 223 in 4-16.
    Have not had a chance to test it out but it looks and feels great.
    Was going to get a VII 1.5-6 but also was told they have made it obsolete. Has been replaced with 1-8 or similar but they are not available yet.
    As Sarvo noted the NZ price is way sharp so no point in importing one direct ex US. I was pointed to a Aussie retailer who has some good info online about them.

    Picked up a Vixen 3-12x40 BDC on trade me and mounted it on the BSA 284 tonight. Very impressed with first look. Smooth power ring, quick focus eye piece, positive clicks and crystal clear. Name: C3819F18-C528-406C-B744-C9F5CD8DC42D.jpeg

    The Conetrol rings take a bit to line up but they are rock solid (and no need for Locktite etc). I’m bore sighted and ready to print some paper. Found the sub-tensions on line. They were for 8x so I’ve calc’d the reduction at 12x and looks good if I sight in 2inch high at 100yards to shoot out to 450yards.

    Watch out Leupold....

    Sighted in and super easy - first two shots about 3 inches low and 3 inches left. Clicked 16 up and 12 right and pretty good to go

    Minor adjustment and I’m ready with the BDC out to 400 with my rangefinder

    Scope is nice and clear
