Vortex Ranger 1000 Rangefinder? Anyone had any experience?

Anyone had any experience with these?

I see they allow for angle and give the corrected horizontal distance, which I'm keen on. I rate the two other Vortex optics i have. The Ranger 1000 seems to get pretty good reviews on the O/S sites.

I know the Leica 1000-R and the 1600-B are known as the pick of the bunch, but if the Vortex does indeed perform as well as the Leica 1000-R for a bunch less coin, i'm always keen on value for money.

Hey thanks, good to hear. Do you get a reading in the same conditions as him, or probably a better way of putting it, have you ever struggled to get a reading, when he has?

    Cheers

Last time I was out shooting with my mate we were ranging at the same time getting the same readings, we were ranging rabbits out to 300 no problems.
I did some test on larger more reflective things and we got similar results out to 800m.
I got mine from camerland Ny when I was in the states last year.

Great thanks for that, that price from Shooters Supplies is actually pretty good, would be bugger all more than getting in from the US, just ordered one from them, cheers.

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

If your having to find reflective objects at 800 it sounds fairly shit. The yukon lrs-1000 willl range to 1000 an all conditions and out to 12-400 on trees

My Vortex Ranger 1000 has arrived, and very impressed on initial testing, trees to 1040 yds on a fairy misty day. Nice and small.
