Thread: Vortex scope

Does anyone in either Marlborough or Nelson have a Vortex Viper HST 4-16×44 that I could look through. Looking at a new scope around that price and want to view one before spending. No retailer's in this area have them.

I just got one mounted up last weekend. But im in Timaru. Seems ok so far. zoom ring very tight. dials click well. edge of glass bit discolored but clear. eye box a little tighter than the pst gen2 and the nikons i had.

Yeah man the Vortex I had (HS 6-24) was super tight. I think they are all like that.

If the zoom ring feels tight you may need to lap the rings.

I had a vortex 2 -7 mounted on a Rossi 270 and it was really tight on its little rail. I went to a M70 Winchester with a DNZ one piece mount and the problem disappeared

So it could be rings out of alignment twisting the tube?
