The 2x magnification on the low end is excellent for close range shots, any animals shot under 50m you would benefit from 2x and the firedot reticle.
If you were taking most of your shots at 100-400m+ then I'd say go for the 3-15.

I really wish Leupold still did the firedot windplex reticle, it in the 2-10 would be awesome, unfortunately they dropped it when they went to the VX6hd.
+1 windplex firedot is the dream

I was looking for a VX-R 4-12 Windplex firedot. But could be a possible as these seem hard to locate at the mo..

I got a price from another forum member who had been in touch with the aforementioned supplier but need to confirm that. Was alot cheaper than the green bandits by a a fair chunk but will see if that price is still valid and if we can improve

    I run a 2-10 on my 308.

The clarity and lack of weight makes up for the lack of magnification.

I had a crack at a goat out of my 308 at 605y.

Landed the bullet right at his feet.

Did I feel undergunned optically? Hell no.

What a scope! Would happily buy another !
