    Ive been looking at these cheapies on deal extreme Buy New Radio Walkie Talkies from China at Dealextreme - DX (they do cheap GPS too)


    Some of these look pretty good Cheap UHF too.

    You have to make sure that they are using the NZ/Aus frequencies which are different to other countries.

    Yeah was thinking about they state the frequencies on them. Ill have to find out what ours are, I dont want to go over a cell phone channel, naughty naughty. But itll have to wait till Ive paid off my bow, my 9mm carbine, and various are toys.

    I have 2 sets of Motorola's from the US that will only talk to themselves.
    The PRS or whatever it is, is a diff frequency range and don't work with the NZ brought Motorola's
    Trademe time I think

    In a certain town a cell site kept on having issues at 10am every sunday morning, techies couldnt work out why......until they discovered the minister up the road at the church had imported a wireless headset that ran on the same channel as the cell site...every he gave a surman, he shut the site down! Same happened in auckland with a chick yelling at her jazercise with her headset.

    You must have an amateur radio operators license to run those radios that are in the listing you can get a fairly heavy fine for being in posession of a ham radio transmitter/reciever without having a license.
