    Weatherby mkV vs Weatherby vanguard barrel thread

    Gidday guys does anyone know if the barrel threads on the mkV and vanguard are the same? Gun city have a cheap 270 Weatherby magnum barrel for $200 and if it fits a vanguard I'll grab it.

    Can't help you with your question but unless it's a New barrel I would be hesitant about purchasing any of the take off barrels that gun city have, especially one chambered in an extreme overbore cartridge like 270wby. Theres probably a good reason it was taken off

    Or wait for the new Weatherby 6.5 and have a good new barrel reamed for that...

    It looks like it will fit comfortably in a standard long action.

    From memory ,vanguard are metric (1.5 mm pitch)
    Mark v 16threads per inch. But I could wrong .
