Unfortunately I don’t have a medium range rifle anymore, But I do have two rifles on either side of the spectrum a 300 blackout for up close and personal and a 338 edge for way out there. The dog enjoys the blackout more as he can see the whites of the deers eyes when I put a bullet in him.

Seems to work, notice my mates 'now what?' Look after finding the deer on his first ever hunt.

Have a wee 300blk ar15 for the thick shit as well, that also seems to work

Bonus speargun because it shoots more stuff than all my other guns put together

That view from the grass across the river in the 2nd photo is strangely familiar.

Yeah, good spot that. Some gc put me on to it.

Also very good of the deer to run across from the other side of the river and die on the track. I'm sure my mate thinks hunting is a doddle now haha

    Mauser 98 .270 Win + S&B Zenith 1.5-6x42 FD4.

I like to keep it within 150m, but I'm sure it would handle shots out further.

Tikka 7mm Saum, 18” hardy, mcmillian cf stock, swaro z5, DPT suppressor, neopod, shoots Berger classic hunter 168gr very nicely. This thing is a dream to carry around and shoot compared to my old sako 75 30-06 with gunworks suppressor and Harris bipod I used to lug around.

It would be way better if you shortened it and put a DPT suppresor on it and carbon fibre or chassis stock, fluted bolt and Burris Eliminator scope

Yeah. And I can then get a sex change and re-barrel it to something new age and trendy...like 6.5x284.
