    .308 Tikka T3x in a MDT LSS chassis. 14" barrel 1/10 twist.

@mikee it's in kg with suppressor on. I guess my version of lite and yours maybe different... ;-)

If only shooting 300 to 400 max, why not a howa mini in 6.5 grendel. Lots od options in stocks, and some chassis too

For a light rifle I don't think you can beat a Kimber Montana or a Forbes

260 7mm08 308 take ya pick, all of them will do what you want with ease.

Pictured rifle is a Rem model 7 fitted with a Wildcat Composites stock which cuts the weight nicely. It's currently chambered in 260 rem.

With Talley rings and a little light scope it'll be well under 3kg ready to shoot.

Tikka T3x Superlight 6.5 Creedmoor. It'll be very accurate straight out of the box, have an excellent trigger and a super slick bolt. DPT make a nice chassis stock. I personally don't see the point of a chassis stock on a hunting rifle but each to their own.

I don't know where your hunting, but if its any kind of, supplejack, lawyer and vine infested, westcoast Taranaki jungle, you be sick of all the sticky out bits, on your chassis rifle, before the day is done. I get pissy with my bolt action, and sheath knife, getting hung up at times. Sum place's are made for a carbine's/levers and irons.

Love my Tikka t3x superlite in 308. 16 inch barrel, fluted barrel and bolt, carbon stock. Shoots sub MOA with factory ammo. Comfortable to carry and shoot no trouble to 300mtrs plus. Have a friend with same rifle with dial up scope shoots confidently to 500. Weighs 6.4lb bolt and mag in with scope rings on minus scope. Can weigh with scope but is still very light

There seems like alot to go through, I'm pretty set on a 6.5 cm, or 6.5prc. My brownings shoot alot better than the tikka, I think this is due to the tikka magazine being maxed out for length before getting a round developed for the chamber.

Put a long mag and bolt stop in the tikka

The Tikka's in 6.5cm come with an Med+ sized magazine which is longer than the normal Med/.308 etc sized magazine, which at least in my experience allowed for seating of 143ELDX to the lands and still mag feed-able.
