What to buy to replace my .223 Semi

OK boys and girls. Now that I have handed my nasty evil unsafe rifle in to the Govt I find myself looking for a replacement.
Have tried a Troy Pump Action a mate brought but it was very innaccurate (think barn door accurate) with all the ammo we tried so it was returned
Another Mate has a Pump AR (locally made in North Island) and this is accurate as my now gone AR but impossible to cycle the action fully when shooting prone.
I have been looking at Lever actions, either the Browning 81 lightweight (takedown) and the Henry long ranger.

Seems revies on accuracy are mixed, does anyone out there have one they can give a first hand report on accuracy.
Browning seems better as you can get a 10 round mag (lucky 13) for them now. Henry only holds 5

This is strictly for Wobblie shooting, yes I can use my TCU but it only holds 5, Lever action with DM seems best bet

Staight Pull would be another option but I don't really want to spend megabucks just left over Jizzy Bucks

    So any ideas

read that but would be nice to have an accuracy indication from people who actually own and use them.

Troy has a straight pull side action rifle. Hopefully they will be bought in soon.

I'm not an AR person, does this look comfortable to use?

Personally would prefer it to a pump action AR derivative.

Im playing with a Ruger Ranch Rifle and a Browning superlight 223 for my AR replacement wallaby / fallow rifle.

The Browning feels better and seems to be lighter only working up a load for the Browning but the wee Ruger shoots good but feels barrel heavy even before you fit a suppressor but it shoots good with my DIY M262 77 gr SMK home loads.

I also had a thought about the Henry Long Ranger never actually handled one or tried to clean one.

I also had a fancy for this one https://www.browning.com/products/fi...-takedown.html none available and the barrel band kind of put me off a bit.

I feel like it would be better than a PAR for positional shooting

It looks light to at 5.9lb

Mikee, when you shoot Wobblies, is it mostly offhand or mostly prone ?

Off hand generally when hunting on foot and off vehicle with spotlight/thermal sight etc. On the run is hard with a bolt action and off the vehicle at night the bigger the mag the better (now that would be 10 max) Going to try my .357 Mag lever on them this year when on foot, but a box mag makes it easy to make the gun safer quickly shooting from side x side.
I know its a tall order I am after the impossible I know
Browning would fit the bill if accurate

How bad of accuracy were we talking? Mine does about 1.5" at 100 with Belmont 77gr. I've killed goats with it out to 350m, it's not a tack driver but it's "service" accurate.

    Hi Mikee
Have handled the Browning take down it's a nice bit of kit, the lever action was smooth on a ratchet system.
But by all accounts not easy in the lever to take apart. I did get into it and didn't need to.
The other thing is it was in 308 but the 223 will be not to much different.
It's a great design in the way it comes apart easy to assemble therefor could be put into a pack.
Find one and see how it fits you.
