None of us have been disappointed with the 120 gr Sierra!

There’s also a noticeable difference in recoil from 140 to 120 which is ideal for my kids and for anyone for that matter who could potentially develop a flinch as I know I did when younger shooting my 7x57 with 139 gr Hornady’s

As for more powder... we use 43 gr AR2206H with superb accuracy out of T3’s & I’m playing around with my Kimber a bit more so watch this space.

I don’t think we can seat them out any further due to the concave of the projectile but PM me & I’ll flick some projectiles to you in the post to try out for yourself!
    I use CFE223 with 120grn for 3K. 18" barrel. Tiny groups.
As you say, its the alternative way to go with the 7-08. Go lighter and speed it up. My 14 YO Grandson loves it, and so do I.

Another goodie for the same speed is the 130 grn Speer Hotcor.

Picked up some 150 eld's so ill see how they go before i do anything rash. Wonder why the 284 hasnt been done as factory gun as it seems to be popular these days ? Good job on the shooting POP Shot.

I AI'd mine bout 5 or 6 years ago when the 284 craze was taking off just to have something different.
From the reading i did at the time, it was said that the 7mm08 had one of the poorer % gain wise over the standard case of the ackley conversions.
I've only run heavies 160, 162, 175's and on average I've gained 100-150 fps over the standard case loads.

If you want something a little different the AI might be of interest but if you're looking purely for velocity gains then 284 or 7saum would be your better bet.
