Doesn’t seem it’s going anywhere in a hurry! Might be time to save.
Getting older is compulsory, growing up is entirely optional.
I should have bought it. Been looking for a donor to build a 7x57 Ackley on it.
22 Creedmoor. Tim, there is a HUGH difference between the 223 and the 22CM. I've got both ant theres no comparrison.
Re-barrel, keep it in the .308 family. My choice .358 Win for something different and a very under estimated cartridge. Energy delivered at the business end compared to the .308 is quite something. You know you want to.![]()
I have one of these that I threaded for a suppressor. The exact same ultimate shadow version in 7mm-08. I have bought and sold various other rifles but tend to find myself coming back to it. Maybe it's just superstition, but for some reason I take more animals with this than my other rifles. It's my goldilocks rifle - not too unwieldy for bush yet still capable of ringing a gong at 400m consistently. It's better built than a Howa yet not too precious to take out into the field and get dirty.
What would I do in your case? Probably consider an aftermarket stock and ceratoke so it's looks pretty again. That's my plan once mine deteriorates cosmetically enough to justify it.
Hope the picture aint to big. This is my own Win 70 that I got from my late Father in '99. One of my most accurate rifles.
