Heaviest mini action ever made: BSA Hunter action, Sako takeoff .243 barrel chambered in 6x45, VX3i 2.5-8, custom 8” long gunworks can and home made fibreglass stock. 3.6kg.

So much excess metal in those actions. Especially for the cartridge size!

There is a new Howa ultra light coming soon.
The size of the new action is between the mini and the standard for the 308 cartridges class.

‘Excess metal’? Sound a good match for a Parker Hale 222!

well apart from the opening for the ejection port my howa mini 223 is as long in the action or longer than my kimber 243s action
so there is plenty of fat in there if you opened up the ejection port and magazine hole

That is the one, 4lbs 7 ounces in 308 or 6.5 cm .

As it has a carbon stock , price might not be that cheap.
