I’m only just starting out with the dog, but I have spent the last year training her and buggered if I’m going to fire supersonic rounds over her and in a couple of years time she’s going deaf.
So I’m running a 1-8 twist 308 with 168 Lehigh subsonic rounds for up close and when I can get the dog behind me I use a 165 sst out to 500 yards
Leupold vx3i Boone n crocket with cds. Zeroed for supersonic rounds and at 7moa up I’m zeroed for subsonic at 60yards
GSP HUNTER and mikee like this.

Mines going def he's mostly a peg dog, this means you use him for picking up once the drive has finished.
So he's had thousands of rounds fired over him. I usually get through more than 700 game cartridges a year on pigeon, phesant, duck and partridge. Dude has been there for the all of it over his nine years....loved every second of it he goes nuts when a rattle the gun safe keys so I'm not too surprised.
He can here the whistle and most commands when he wants to he gets free rain these days and is probably the best dog I've ever trained. Not to sure what I'll do when he's gone
GSP HUNTER and Micky Duck like this.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.

What's the drop on that at 500. Must be huge. Corelokt are supposed to slow up pretty fast. By my thinking is must be 40-45inches or so.
I've been using ssts in a 15" but am thinking of maybe taking a page out duleys book and trying the federal, not that I've ever had a problem with ssts.

I only shoot the corelokt in the bush, for anything longer I use a 162 Amax.

But if I was to shoot the corelokt at 500y the drop is 103" and it's only carrying 584f/lbs so no good for killing.

The Amax drops 79" and has 1010f/lbs @500y
