Is there such a thing as a308 necked down to 27. Could just rechamber and set the barrel back on what you already have?

How about re barrel to 300 blackout 14" + suppressor so you can play around with sub sonic rounds for something different?

yes the 270/08 is indeed a "thing" but why on earth would you??? you gain nothing..absolutely nothing by doing so other than slightly less powder burnt..the action is still full length any weight saving is tiny..... building new it has merit in being different... changing what is already functional not so wise.

My cunning idea was to chuck a 7 or 8 twist 20inch 243 barrel on, slightly heavier than a tikka contour. I’ve got a spare hardy stealth suppressor and krg chassis sitting unused so I reckon all of them put together would make a reasonably heavy but not annoying truck gun for farm hunting..

Grandpamac - had thought of making a lightweight walkabout gun but I’ve got a 7x57 that fits that gap nicely, light recoiling and will flatten anything inside 200m
    Greetings,
I loaded for a .358 Win for a bit. .308 cases easily form to .358. The Hornady dies with their elliptical expander button worked well
    GPM.

sorry I missed that..yeah I believe so... can have full noise hunting loads or use pistol projectiles for pithing around..... its not a cartridge we see used a lot as the .308 can do much of muchness.....but with heavyweights it can excell according to all reports.
