When thermal and night vision have a baby...

Some nice developments in the World of high-end optics - see this link - https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...harris-envg-b/

The hybrid NV thermal offers the best if both worlds. Thermal can't see through transparent glass, whereas NV can. Thermal can't show text and signs, whereas NV can. NV can't pick objects that are camouflaged whereas thermal can. Now, one scope seems to be able to do it all (and wreck your bank balance at the same time).

This gear has been around quite some time. When I used to import there was a unit called the TIG-7 which incorporated the PVS-7 goggle and a clip on Thermal that fed straight into the unit. It was law enforcement and Military sales only. Also Thermal/NV units called fusion, They started around $40k from memory.

Some very impressive technology - The military use only doesn't surprise me... I could have really used these when I worked in conservation back in South Africa. Culling, anti-poaching and black rhino monitoring would have been a lot safer!

So you can spy on the neighbour woman in her bedroom AND keep lookout for her dog outside? <D

None of that nonsense, @Cordite - I guess I must be a Trekkie at heart... I have a desire to live long and prosper!
