Where can I source a new spring for my air rifle? And other do up questions.

I have a Diana Mod 45 Air rifle which I've just stripped down to re coat and discovered the spring is broken. Any idea where to get a new one or am I dreaming.

Also what do you use to varnish the stocks?

I don't really want to blue it so what kind of hard wearing coatings are there?

Bit new to this maintenance kind of thing.

I have found youngs air guns in Dorkland to be good for old air gun parts,he seems to buy broken guns for parts and also knows them inside out so can reconnect what can be used in place of what. Tho a proper factory part should be available for a Diana

    A third vote for Youngs.
You can jump on the interwebs and find what you need internationally, but postage seems to be a bitch.
Send it all to Youngs, and get it "tuned" while its there.

Def Youngs. Ron can source them and Ian can fit the part quite easily and give the whole thing a tune if you like.

    Good service from them

    Cheers!

How hard is it to re blue? There is some patches which are pitted and most of it has got light rust. Is it worth bluing or just putting some other type of coating on it?

What do I do to the wood to bring up a nice finish?

Clean, tweak/replace trigger action, update/replace main spring, install gas ram instead of spring, etc All depending on the make and model. Some of the basic cheap air rifles can't really be fixed, because they're basic and cheap.
