    well that didnt work out.

5 weeks after being told it was refunded and checking up a number of times to see what was happening. was told the new rifle was ordered in the first week then last week that the refund was still being purchased. just been into the shop and talked to the manager who got the refund sorted in 5 minutes, how long it should have taken on day one. then asked for a full refund as frankly im not interested in dealing with the shop any more after all this.

going to be in auckland in a few days so might pop into reloaders and see what they have floating around. subsequently this has now opened up the second hand market so its all back to square one, again.

Reloaders have wood/blued Sako 85 for $2599 in their latest catalogue, that's coming back down towards what a Sako ought to cost.

2013, I only glanced at it, must have mis-remembered the price. More reasonably priced than they have been in recent years, anyway.

Tikka T3 in 7mm REM MAG w/ optilocks and the rest towards Gunworks suppressor. You will still have enough money for a fly in trip or money to buy reloading gear.

The animals wont know the difference between being shot with a Sako or an $1100 Tikka.

The A7 is no supermodel either though, stock looks pretty much the same as the Savage Axis/Ruger American/other generic budget plastic rifle of your choice.

I don't recall ever suggesting anyone buy an A7, or the others either....

The OP was talking about buying an A7, someone suggested the X-bolt as an alternative, you said the X-bolt was too ugly. I added that the A7 is also ugly, I don't see how its relevant whether you suggested the A7 to anybody or not?
