For reasons I like the 56S with a folding bayonet. Looks badass. Gives them that VC vibe.

So who wants to take me to the range?? Beer on me afterwards for successful applicants

They don't let us untrustworthy civvies own AK's or their variant (except for Valmets I might add) in Canada, but we have CZ858's and VZ58's coming out of the woodwork. Go figure eh?

The rifle pictured isn't mine but it gives you an idea of what $800ish buys in Canuckistan.

Very easy project , hardest part if you dont have a mill is getting someone to make the trigger guard and stock . you can get the handguard of trademe and bolt it on mill a slot for the trigger which is the original trigger that I removed .
You would have to move the grip forward if you want to use 30round mags or it will hit the grip . I converted the rifle to use AR mags as they are cheaper and I have them for my ARs anyway . I added an extra spring for the trigger return but the trigger pull is the same as before the conversion .
Later on I will go with A 1-4 scope on it and make another safety but as I said I do enjoy shooting it and happy with how it turned out .

The 30s are pinned to 5 sadly but you can buy adapters that accept XCR 7.62 mags, which have been imported as pistol mags that allow for a 10 round capacity. These rifles also come in 5.56 and the same adapter (but for AR mags) also allows for a 10 round capacity using AR pistol mags.
