Why Does Everyone Hate Dan Cans?

    Hey Guys
Whenever I see a thread on suppressors, lots of people hate on the Dan Can.....Why is that? 90% of NZ hunting stores sell them and say there great.....sooooo whats wrong with them? I even see they have better DB reduction......idk......correct me if i'm wrong.

the stores that sell will say they are great.
I couldn't tell any diference in sound from my dpt to a hardy. Like the price and adjustable baffles on the dpt and if it break easy to get parts or have fixed.

And beside the hate on the Hardy, the DPT's are way cheaper, quality bit of kit, can add or remove baffles as needed, can swap the baffles from say 22cal to 7mm to run the main body of the suppressor on two different rifles, and they work very well. And Darren at DPT offers a bloody good sales and after sales service.

Have you heard the term 'vested interest' ? Of course people will say whatever it is that they happen to be selling is the best, they have a vested interest, ie you buy it from them, they make money ;-)

Pre Gen 6 have the open 3 open flutes at the end of the suppressor that are magnets for sticks etc getting caught in blocking/crossing the line of the projectile.
Look cool but just bloody dangerous (maybe some of the causes of the exploding ones?). I'd also rather put a piece of tape/sticky dot over 1 hole not 4.

I have one on my AR and it does what it should, BUT, the bloody thing keeps unscrewing itself. If you shoot a mag and forget to screw it back up tight again, there is a risk of a baffle strike, and your accuracy goes to pot. And doing it back up again when its hot because the rabbits are starting to over run you can be a sizzling experience for the left hand.
Of course the first statement will be that the barrel thread is not correctly machined, but being a fitter by trade, I've measured the tread and its in spec, and the suppressor is not a sloppy fit when being screwed on.

Never owned one but I can tell you why I haven’t brought one
1 because im cheap and dpt is cheaper
2 i have mates that have them and I don’t see any advantage to the more expensive can
3 ive seen photos of ones that blew up and that puts me off even if they have supposably fixed the problem
4 dpt with changeable rear bushings are more suited for use on multiple rifles
