Crosshairs placed on neck and it went clean through absolutely smashing it. I'll comfortably head shoot wallabies at 200m with the confidence I know where it lands.

I bought mine xth hand, scoped for $450 from memory. Not expensive new either.

How would you rate it over a Bisley Norinco ? Thinking of a new x39 and thinking hinged floor plate may be a go.

I've never used one of those Norinco's so couldn't give a comparison but would think it would be a reasonable step up. The Zastava's are pretty well made. I have one in 7mmRemMag which is largely a copy of a Mauser 98 and takes 98 mounting gear. I would by another in a heartbeat.

Run with a classy Shultz and Larsen Legacy in .223. Change barrel system as well. All steel and smooth as.

Yeah I've got the Norinco and although it's good for the job and accurate enough the rattly bolt handle, tinny feel and really skinny barrel just don't do it for me.
Are the zastava barrels any thicker?

I will buy a 223 when I get some cash from the payout.
Just pondering on what make to get.

    It will always be popular.

But now also have a 222 and a 6mm Rem. Plus one for the AK round later and 30-06 round as well.

I'm looking at a ruger ranch rifle in 7.62x39mm. From what I can see they rate really well.

its ages since I owned them I think the barrels are about the same I remember the rattly bolt handle it just didn't seem right the zastavas usually have nice wood stocks not like the Chinese balsa ones

Iv had both infact I traded my bisley for the Zastava , I almost felt a little guilty but the bisley shot pretty dam good & the Zastava wasn't running quite rite all it needed was a new leaf spring ! the Zastava is a much nicer rifle , must take it for a walk some time soon .

Anyone know what they run like with Norinco ammo?
The Ruger mini 30's were fussy bastards when it came to ammo.

Lucky for me my mini 30 loved the cheap Barnaul ammo actually so did my mini 14 ( well the 581 series one, the 181 series were pretty minute of barn door )
Maybe I need to buy a bolt 7.62x39 to use up that ammo too
