Will it be an Upgrade or a Downgrade?

Have a Nikon Monarch 3, 4-16x42 am thinking of getting something new. The reticle on the Nikon is too thick for my liking, I only shoot animals to 400 and steel to 600. Would a vx3hd be a suitable upgrade or am i best to keep what i have. Will the leupold dial as reliably as the nikon? Budget around $1000. And no i can not justify saving up extra for a vx5. Want a 1” tube anyway to keep it compact. Cheers guys.

In my opinion no the vx3 wont be any better the reticle may be better but that's about it, if you want better glass with a 1" tube save up for a a swaro.
Love my nikons, shot reds out to 600 with my 6-24×50 monarch 3 with bdc reticle before I sold it and currently run a 4-16×42 monarch on my 30-06 shot reds out past 300yards with that set up no worries its a duplex type reticle

Having looked through a superslam I wouldn't have thought the glass would be much if any better, the only benefit to me woukd be the pull up turrets.

Cool cheers, il prob just keep the monarch. It dials well clicks are positive and its still pretty light weight for a 16 power scope. Sometimes ya think ya need something when ya actually don't 😉

You keep processing through and choose the 49.99 2 day delivery service and fill in the correct details. Ask them after your tracking number once they have processed. That worked for me.
