Yet another magazine question this time 260 and browning abolt

So im sorting out some loads for my mate muz @quadhunter260
Who has a browning abolt micro hunter with an after market barrel in 260 remington
It’s recently had a barrel chop and suppressor fitted
So re doing his load Development to suit
One thing that pisses both him me off is the extremely short mag on the micro hunter of only 2.800”
This means that the bullets obviously have to be stuffed a long way in the case in order to fit in the mag
Which is a bit of a pain in the arse

Now my question relates to the spacer Riveted into the magbox on the a bolt mag

As you can see there’s quite a thick spacer attached to mag box
I think this is part of the ramp so couldn’t be removed completely?
But could it be milled thinner to give a little bit more room in the magazine?
I know it wouldn’t be much but any is a bonus

I was going to suggest stripped uppers and lowers but you're obviously talking a different type of mag.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

File a slot wide enough for the projectile tip to slide up?
