Thread: 1st for 2017 - Kaimai sojourn

Plenty of precipitation yesterday steady drizzle providing the deer with dressing on their salad.

So I grabbed the ultralight out of the safe threw the day pack in the ute, and off up the Bully Track I went.






I have a regular circuit figure of 8 that I do it takes in old skid sights and clearings, a range of country that produces this time of year due to the rain it was quiet underfoot.
Truck loads of sign and smelt a few animals but no cigar but that is the challenge





I just took my time slow & quiet and for once the fickle Kaimai wind was working in my favor








Stags starting to thrash & rub up the Weinmannia racemosa Kamahi so not far now to the roar

Promising looking country wasn't the nicest of days today for a hunt, but at least you were out there having a look.
