Good video mate, looks like some nice country
I notice you had several opportunities to shoot deer silhouetted against the skyline.
Looked to be wild unoccupied country beyond for a bullet to land in if the shooter missed.
I assume you didn't for the sake of keeping to good practice?

"Never assume, it makes an ass out of u and me".
In Scotland there are no true wilderness areas and there are footpaths and walkers everywhere. Here, I don't shoot without seeing the backstop.
In Sweden there are true wilderness areas and shooting birds out of trees with rifles has been done for generations and without incident (and it is a nationally celebrated way of hunting). Here I don't see the bullet backstop other than "that hill" as winter has a way of further emptying desolate spaces plus the snow + unsociable hours you enter these areas gives you a pretty decent indication of "traffic".
In New Zealand I was also in wild areas looking for chamois and tahr. Never fired a shot without seeing the backstop.
Shooting without a backstop or a proper risk assessment seems like a needless way to risk ruining lives.
Great country!!
I see your Bi pod is directly on your barrel ?
Thought that was a definite no no ??
Sarvo, using the bipod on the barrel is fine as long as you have it on the barrel while sighting in as well as hunting. Some shooters rest the forearm on a pack, etc for sighting in, but put the bipod on the barrel for hunting. Using a barrel mounted bipod can shift the point of impact from where it would be using a forearm rest. It's all about consistency. Short range shooting, it doesn't matter too much.
I’m not sure that the bipod is actually attached to the barrel, just the hinge point is above the barrel?

You travel to some nice areas to hunt, great video and shooting.
The legendary 8hp Yam makes an appearance.
The rest of the vid was pretty good too.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
